10 Highest Mojo Colleges

Many sources make lists. Wikipedia is a source that does a good job of describing how a list is built. But I don't rely on it. Instead, I used endowment, acceptance rate, the US News rank, and my own judgement as my sources in making my list.
sually, lists rank colleges for suitability for an individual or for best overall rank. However, mine ranks the colleges with the highest mojo, not the best academics, sports, campuses, etc. I included US News’ overall rank because a high placement on such a list is one indication (not the only one) of mojo. Another one that I use is endowment. If alumni have money ad want to give it to their alma mater, that indicates that the alma mater has mojo. Another indicator that I use is acceptance rate. If a lot more people apply to a college than are accepted, that is a further indication of mojo. Also note that the military academies are in a different group for purposes of evaluation, but I include a couple that have great mojo.
It is important to note that the best college for anyone is the one that offers the “best fit”. If you want to serve in the military, one of the military academies is right for you, If you are a top student who is into technology, you might be interested in MIT or Cal Tech. The Ivies offer their own benefits that might be a better fit for some. If you have an entrepreneurial bent, for example, there are schools that are looking for you. I make no political judgement,; this is a mojo list.
In any event, here is my list of highest mojo colleges.

  1. Harvard University I rate them first because their rank in everything is either first or second. An obvious first choice. Everyone will recognize your worth if you graduate from Harvard.
  2. Princeton University Just slightly behind Harvard. Another easy choice. This school has a great history and many outstanding prpofessors.
  3. Stanford University This school may be a surprise to some, but they rank very highly, especially in acceptance rate. Proximity to Silicon Valley has probably been a large boost for them.
  4. Yale University Another Ivy league school. They have a superb alumni network that helps their mojo. There is a good reason why the Ivies have mojo. They are excellent schools.
  5. M I T They have remarkably broad offerings, but still are centered on technology. MIT is a a known commodity worldwide.
  6. US Military Academy at Westpoint I have seen the mojo of Army officers myself. Anyone who has graduated from one of the Academies has plenty of mojo.
  7. US Naval Academy at Annapolis Very close to the Army’s academy, you get a great education here if you are willing to serve.
  8. Columbia University Another Ivy, and deserving to be on the list, although being in NewYork inflates their endowment.
  9. U of Pennsylvania Slightly behind Columbia. Most of the Ivies are high mojo institutions.
  10. University of Chicago This is not an Ivy, but they have a great reputation in Physics, Economics, and other areas and a strong history going for them.
So there you have my opinion of colleges with the most mojo.
