7 Positions That Benefit From Mojo
7 Positions That Benefit From Mojo
If you are fortunate enough to get one of these positions, having mojo can help you. Here is my list:
1. Team captain - This person needs to be respected by his teammates. His teammates must be willing to do what the captain says, even if they disagrees with it. In addition, he must have the pulse of the team. And he must communicate it and other information to the coach. Having mojo can lead to the desired respect, whether from perceived expertise, willingness to act, luck, or motivation. If a teammate sees one or more of these qualities exemplified in the captain, the teammate will be more willing to follow him. The teammate will also be more willIng to confide in the captain. This can help the captain get the pulse of the team. Given these requirements for the captain, it is not surprising that he is often not the most skilled or accomplished member of the team. But he should be selected for the possession of mojo.
2. Ship’s captain - This role requires decisive decisions, tremendous trust from your shipmates, and proven knowledge of seamanship. In addition, a sea captain must make decisions about a variety of sometimes life-and-death issues for anyone on the ship. It is no surprise that mojo plays a key role in getting to this position. You cannot expect to be trusted or followed if you don’t have expertise, motivation, experience, or willingness to act. These are big ingredients of mojo.
3. Coach - A coach must plan for each of his charges, get their buy-in, make crucial game decisions, and generally be the leader of his team. Expertise and experience will obviously help, but the buy-in especially requires mojo, including other aspects like willingness to act, Coaches must be selfless, i.e. interested in the accomplishments of their charges, even when they themselves get no credit.
4. Manager- A manager has to lead a team, make assignments for them, and answer for their performance, among other things. Having the respect of his team is made easier if the manager has mojo components like experience, expertise and others. If your team thinks you have mojo, it will perform for you and you will be happy to accept the results of that performance.
5. Entrepreneur - An entrepreneur must be a type of captain, a manager, and a great new idea person. In addition to the benefits that a captain or a manager derives from having mojo, the entrepreneur is helped by experience motivation , willingness to act, and expertise in creating new ideas. These are all key components of mojo.
6. CEO- This role is essentially to manage managers, react quickly and decisively to a variety of issues, and be a leader. Some are super entrepreneurs, mega-managers, or high level captains. The benefits of having mojo have been described above,
7. Politician - especially President - The main requirement of any politician is to win more votes than the opponent. The higher the position, the nastier the fight for votes and the harder it is to get them. For a voter to get behind you, you should have many of the mojo qualities, If you don’t have them, you at least need to make voters think that you do. It helps to be a leader, to have motivation, expertise, and experience unless you want to pretend to have them. Once you are elected, you should govern, which requires mojo again, especially in getting people to follow you. Of course, it is possible to not govern and pretend to be doing so if you can keep on getting votes.
