10 Cars That Have The Most Mojo

Top 10 Cars for Mojo

Lots of things can have mojo to varying degrees. In this post, I won’t be writing about a person’s mojo. Instead, I will give my opinion of a car model’s mojo. I will use these general criteria for determining a model’s mojo:
  1. Total All-Time Car Sales
  2. Iconic cars
  3. Durable cars
In addition, it must be a mass production car holding at least 4 people, powered by a gasoline engine. Off the top of my head, I can think of these makes or models as being candidates. I included some
sales numbers for specific models and their countries.

Japan
  • Toyota Corolla 43 million sold
  • Honda Civic 18.5 million sold
  • Honda Accord 17.5 million sold
  • Nissan
  • Mitsubishi
  • Subaru
  • Mazda
South Korea
  • Hyundai
  • Kia
United States of America
  • Ford Model T 16.5 million sold
  • Ford Escort 18 million sold
  • General Motors
  • Chrysler
United Kingdom
  • Jaguar
  • Rolls Royce
  • Morris
Sweden
  • Volvo
  • Saab
France
  • Renault
  • Peugeot
  • Citroen
Italy
  • Alpha Romeo
Germany
  • Audi
  • Mercedes Benz
  • Volkswagen Passat 15.5 million sold
  • Volkswagen Beetle 23.5 million sold
  • Volkswagen Golf 30 million sold
  • BMW
  • Porsche
Soviet Union
  • Lada Riva

To produce my list, I used data from the best selling cars of all time, for total sales numbers, cheatsheets.com, iSeeCars, and Reader’s Digest, for reliability, Edmunds’ The 100 Greatest Cars of All Time and gear patrol’s The 50 Most Iconic Cars In History, for pure panache, and my own experience.
Here are my top ten:
  1. Honda Civic - This is a small sedan that will run forever. It was rated 1st by Cheatsheets, 3rd by iSeeCars, 13th by Reader’s Digest, and 22nd by the 50 most iconic cars. It sold 18.5 million according to MSN. In other words, you will find it to be a car that you will like for a very long time. And many people will agree with you.
  2. Toyota Corolla - Also a small sedan by Honda’s Japanese rival. It was rated 3rd by Cheatsheets, and 8th by Reader’s Digest. It sold 43 million according to MSN! That’s a lot of sales.
  3. Volkswagen Golf - This is an “econbox”, but is reported to have a lot of interior room, nevertheless. It was rated 26th by Edmunds and 14th by the 50 most iconic cars. It sold 30 million according to MSN. That is also a lot of sales.

  1. Volkswagen Beetle - It was ranked 4th by the 50 most iconic cars and sold 23.5 million according to MSN. I had to include it because it affected so many lives.
  2. Honda Accord - This mid size sedan was rated 4th by Cheatsheets, 6th by iSeeCars, 6th by Reader’s Digest, and 45th by Edmund. It sold 17.5 million according to MSN. These are great numbers for a great car.
  3. Fords Model T - It was ranked 9th by Edmunds and 25th by the 50 most iconic cars and sold 16.5 million according to MSN. It set many standards and made many oei0oke car enthusiasts.
  4. Toyota Camry - It was ranked 5th by Cheatsheets, 9th by iSeeCars, 7th by Reader’s Digest, and 46th by Edmunds. These are very high rankings from a very solid, if unspectacular car.
  5. Ford Mustang - It was rated number 1 by the 50 most iconic cars and 15th by Edmunds. Truly iconic and worthy of inclusion on any mojo list.
  6. Toyota Avalon - This is not a spectacular car, but it is ranked 10th by cheat sheets, 2nd by iSeecars, and 20th by Readers Digest. If you drive one of these, no one is going to turn a head and stare at you. But it can make you happy anyway.
  7. Subaru Legacy/Outback - It is ranked 2nd by cheatsheets and 14th by Reader’s Digest. I own one and I love it.
You might use this list for advice in a car purchase (some models are no longer available). These are all going to please you and last a long time. Who could ask for more?
